Toledo Zoo Christmas Lights

Last Friday our family spent the day in Toledo, Ohio. We left in the morning and spent the majority of the day at our favorite science museum, COSI. We recently found out that it was closing for good on December 31, so we thought we'd go for one last visit. We're sad that it was our last outing to COSI but we made the most of it and had a great time, even if it was a bit crowded that day.

We had a yummy "linner" (our word for a cross between lunch & dinner) at our favorite mexican restaurant in Toledo -- "Tango's Mexican Cantina". We were there for an hour and a half, mostly because we were taking turns playing the game "20 questions". It was about 3:00 pm and we were the only customers in the restaurant so we didn't feel the need to hurry. We slowly ate our meal while playing our game. Daddy kept us stumped on his object for a long, long time. We had a good time together.

We also have a family membership to the Toledo Zoo, so before going home, we stopped by to walk around and look at their Christmas light display. They call it the "Lights Before Christmas" and it features over one-million Christmas lights, over 200 animal images, ice-carvings, carolers, holiday treats, a model railroad, and a giant 85-foot spruce tree adorned with over 32,000 lights (more lights than the tree in Rockerfeller Plaza!). Our favorite though, was the "Dancing Lights" show that is synchronized to holiday music. Alex and Logan really got into it and had their own little side-show as they danced around to the music. They were so funny and darn cute! We really had lots of fun at the zoo that night, except when it started to rain. We ducked for cover in one of the restaurants and waited until it was only sprinkling to go out again. We were a little wet and cold by the time we left, but we all thought it was worth the trip.

Looks like fun! I can't wait to go tomorrow! Hopefully we won't freeze to death.
