As of lately, Alex and Logan have been completely, totally and absolutely engrossed in all things LEGOS! Each day after getting home from school, and as soon as they are done with their homework, chores and piano practice, they run to the basement to work on their lego creations. It's been fun to watch their imaginations go wild as they construct different masterpieces every day.
So, because of his obsession, Alex asked to have a LEGO party for his birthday this year (10 years old!). His actual birthday is this coming Saturday 9/24, but he had a party with friends last Saturday 9/17. I made lego cupcakes, we played lego games, had lego-building competitions and lego car races. I also made lego goodie bags for the boys to take home. And Jessica made a jar of lego pieces for the boys to guess how many legos are inside... Whoever was closest to the number of legos inside won a prize. Josh got into the action too and made a racetrack for the lego car races. At the party, the boys were to construct their own lego vehicle, and race them on the racetrack. This was definitely the biggest hit! It was similar to pinewood derby. The first kid to win 8 races, won the game, and a lego prize. Actually, there was a lego prize for every lego competition we had.
The party was an enormous success! The boys had a really great time! Now, Logan wants to have a LEGO party for his birthday in a few weeks. We'll see.... I guess it would be TONS easier this time around if we decided to do it again. We'd just use the same stuff and the same ideas. It's already half done!

I luv the picture so I downloaded the original, resized it with some very good software to increase the resolution just a little, sharpened it a little and put this good looking child on display life size in my bedroom in one of my large digital picture displays. I never get tired of having a gorgeous little beauty like this life size in my bedroom where I can walk in and look at him and admire him with such clarity he appears to be standing directly in front of me! He actually looks like I can reach out and touch him so one of my favorite things to do is spend a few minutes kissing him. The display is warm and silky smooth and the clarity so good it seems like he comes to life and I am really getting to kiss him which is so much fun.
