Been out of touch....

Sorry that I've been out of touch for awhile. It's been two months since I've blogged! Life has gotten extremely busy since I decided to go back to work. Updating our family blog has been at the bottom of my priority list. But since this week is our spring break, the kids and I are off school all week! I've been doing a lot of catch-up projects, including this blog. I've also been planning a wedding anniversary trip for Joshua and I. On June 3rd, it will be our 15th wedding anniversary, but school won't be out yet, so we'll leave the week after it's over. I'm so excited! We are going on a two week trip to Hawaii, with a stop in Los Angeles to go to Disneyland. I haven't been to Disneyland since I was 16 years old. I know Disney World in Florida forwards, backwards and blindfolded, but Disneyland will practically be a new experience for me since it's changed so much. I've never been to the new Disney park, "California Adventure", and Disneyland has a bunch of new things. We've timed it so that we'll be there on my birthday. That means I can get in FREE with the "free admission on your birthday" incentive at all the Disney parks this year. So, after a few days in L.A. then we're off to Hawaii. Neither one of us have ever been to Hawaii, so we are counting down the days to our trip... literally.... See our countdown clock in the sidebar. My mom and dad are coming up from Texas to watch the kids. We are so grateful that they are helping us out, and our kids are excited to see their grandparents.

We are going to Oahu, staying on Waikiki Beach. We found a really nice, affordable yet classy, hotel on the Diamond-head side of the beach. They serve breakfast in little coolers for each guest in the mornings, and provide a beach mat so you can take your breakfast to the beach each morning if you'd like, or just eat in the pool area, or take it to go. I'm looking forward to that. The reviews were great. Yay! I've also been reading all the tourist books on Oahu and have come up with a really great, detailed plan of what we will do while we are there. Of course we'll go to the Polynesian Cultural Center. We'll hike, snorkel, kayak, go on a dinner cruise, go to a luau, see all the best beaches, and see all the best tourist and non-tourist sites. If you've been to Oahu, I'd love some advice....

The temple. . . Pearl Harbor. . . Hawaii is SO much fun! I'm so jealous. My family went when I was a sophomore in high school and it was a blast. We stayed on Maui and then flew over to Oahu. We went to the BYU campus, to the temple, to the Polynesian Cultural Center, to this really windy spot (I think it is on Oahu) where you stand and the wind is so strong it's crazy. The flea markets there are crazy. We went to one outside a sports stadium or some place like that and got all the momentos and tshirts for super cheap. We pretty much drove around the whole island. One of my favorite things in Hawaii was opening an oyster and getting a pearl and then having it mounted on whatever I wanted! It was cool! I can't believe you've almost been married for 15 years!!!!!!!! Crazy! :) I think you'll love it.
