On New Year's Eve morning, we had a family "breakfast in bed party" on Mom and Dad's bed. I made scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon and toast -- Then the kids piled onto our bed and we ate breakfast together while watching a Twilight Zone marathon on the Sci-Fi channel. We all had a really fun time and decided to make it a tradition every year.
In the evening, we had a quiet family party. We made a bunch of snack foods, watched movies, played tons of games and rang in the New Year together. Logan went to bed around 10:30, but Alex was determined to stay up until midnight with the rest of us. He was so excited and very proud when he did. It began to snow outside sometime during the evening, so after toasting the New Year with our glass of egg nog, we got our boots, gloves and coats on and went on a walk outside in the snow. It was so beautiful and peaceful outside as we walked around our neighborhood, until we got crazy and began sliding down our icy driveway in our slippery boots. We had a contest to see who could slide the fastest. I'm proud to say that I won! It was a fun night.
On New Year's Day, we played games all day while attempting to eat as many leftovers from the holidays as we could. Hope you had a nice holiday like we did this year.
