April 23 - 29 Week Update

Last week was a very rainy week. It was harsh being hit with four days of April showers after such a beautiful and warm weekend. But everything is so lush and green now. Leaves are on the trees and blossoms and flowers are everywhere! I love the spring!

On Friday, Logan had a Pajama party at his preschool. He dressed up in his PJ's and slippers and brought his favorite teddy bear to school. They had a pretend sleepover party that had games, a bedtime snack and bedtime story. He loved it. His teachers took a picture of each kid with their bear. Below is Logan's picture.

Spencer came back from his 5th grade camp on Friday afternoon at about 12:30 pm. I took him to Wendy's for lunch and we sat and chatted for an hour and a half as he told me all about his camp adventures. If fact, that's all he talked about all weekend long! He absolutely loved it so I'm glad I sent him despite my uncertainty about the trip. He's my baby and it was the first time he was without a parent (or someone in the family) to take care of him. Spencer told me it was a growing experience for him to make sure he did everything on his own. He came home a little more appreciative of his parents. So, in the end, it all worked out and he had a great time. He told me he'd write a post for the blog about his camp experience. Be looking for that to come soon!

Saturday was another beautiful day. It was a little bit milder than the weekend before but we were glad it wasn't raining. I took the kids to see a free matinee movie of "Charlotte's Web" and then Spencer had another soccer game. His team crushed their competition -- The score was 10 - 1! Spencer made several of the goals. I believe he plays on adrenaline alone. He's always so anxious to play well and hard -- He gives it his all! When it's his turn to be on the sidelines, he's chewing at the bit to get back into the game. He takes it upon himself to help everyone out on the field. It's fun to watch him - He's quite the competitor.

On Saturday night, we let Spencer and Jessica stay up late and watch Spiderman 1 & 2 with us. Joshua wanted to see them both before the 3rd one comes out this Friday and Spencer and Jessica have always wanted to see them so we caved and let them watch with us. I made homemade pizza and peanut-butter popcorn and we made a party of it.

Our Spiderman movie party.

On Sunday after church, we drove around to look at all the spring blossoms. I took pictures of the kids in our springtime surroundings.

I am totally loving those spring pics! Your kids are adorable! It was fun to see the entire Mormon row at Spidey 3! We had a great time! What's next? Pirates or Potter?
